King George Park - Bay Run - Rozelle

Client: Leichhardt Municipal Council
Project Category: Open Space and Recreation

Environmental Partnership was first involved in planning for King George Park with the development of the Parramatta River Foreshores Improvement Programme. In developing the Bay Run improvements planning and design outcomes fed into the Bay Run Masterplan Study which was being undertaken concurrently with the King George Park design.

Incorporating pedestrian and cycle path elements the pathway corridor reflects user requirements through varied topographical and vegetation character zones. Detailing of wall, path, and landscape treatments set a benchmark for implementation works to be undertaken in other Council areas.

The pathway incorporates a pedestrian boulevarde zone against the sandstone seawall with shade Fig plantings and seating. Also integrated is a Fitness Station in which path system users can undertake a range of warm up and circuit exercises.
