PROJECT NAME

Ropes Village Oval

LOCATION

Ropes Crossing, Sydney, NSW

CLIENT

Lend Lease

DURATION

2006

The Ropes Village Oval is the recreational hub of the Eastern Precinct, Ropes Crossing development. The oval is strategically located adjoining the proposed Regional Park, and the design complements this location through planning of access paths and integration of tree canopy corridors linking to the Regional Park.

Design has focused on the provision of an attractive and functional open space, that provides for a number of recreational opportunities while also providing a facility that is robust and long lasting and incorporated development application, detailed design and construction documentation drawings.

The oval provides two turf football fields, tennis and basketball courts, a local playground, and carparking facilities.  The fields have training level lighting and are fully irrigated and provided with subsurface drainage.  Design was also prepared by the study team for a custom amenities building to further enhance its recreational use.
