Charles Heath Reserve playground reflects the City of Canada Bay Council’s commitment to creating inclusive, accessible and connected public open spaces. The project delivers a vibrant community destination, bringing together a significant regional playground, landscaped recreational areas and new public amenities. Designed to serve the Five Dock community and support the precinct’s future growth, the reserve provides new opportunities for recreation, social connection and outdoor enjoyment.
Environmental Partnership developed the landscape design to integrate seamlessly with the existing leisure centre while protecting and enhancing the site’s ecological and habitat values. A focus on increasing tree canopy, strengthening the landscape structure and introducing endemic plant species supports biodiversity, improves shade and contributes to a greener, more resilient play space.
A distinctive multi-level playground and accessible play environment integrates a network of accessible pathways and play elements creating a dynamic, varied and engaging experience for users of all abilities, encouraging exploration, movement and inclusive play.
Completed in mid-2024, Charles Heath Reserve has quickly established itself as an important community destination, providing a welcoming and accessible green space for Five Dock and the wider City of Canada Bay local government area.
