The founding director of Environmental Partnership and a key member of the pioneering
first wave of Australian Landscape Architects, Michael Robert Ewings passed away at his
home on the north coast of NSW on the 4 th March 2026.
Michael had a rich and productive career notably as a Director of firstly Environmental
Landscapes and subsequently Environmental Partnership.
Not only is Michael’s legacy continued through the significant projects he stewarded across
Australian parks and public spaces over 40 plus years, but also through his contribution of
the Landscape Foundation of Australia Ewings scholarship for students and early career
graduates.

Congratulations to the NSW Department of Planning Open Space Team , Infrastructure Policy branch for receiving the NSW AILA Award of Excellence in Planning, for the Places to Swim Best Practice Guide.

Thanks to The City of Canada Bay for putting on a great open day on Saturday for the new Charles Heath Reserve playground in Five Dock.

A multi-disciplinary team led by Environmental Partnership has been appointed by Hornsby Council to develop a concept plan for development of a new regional sports and parkland facility at Westleigh.

The Sydney Park Storm water Re-use Project was a 2018 Finalist in the Civic Trust Awards, Pro-Tem Awards & AABC Conservation Awards in the UK.
